SparkPeople: Total Body Sculpting

Short and effective Total Body Sculpting
I completed all 3 workouts on this dvd. Of the three workouts, Bodyweight Burn, Barre Body and Sizzle Sculpt, the Barre Body is my favorite. As a child I took ballet and this workout brought back a few memories. Enjoyed this one very much. The pace and fluid movement was nice and controlled. Due to an injury, I kept it low to no impact, yet the workout was very effective. I also limited or did not use weights, although, it is just as effective without weights. Like the previous dvd from Sparkpeople, The 28-day Bootcamp, I enjoyed that all the moves can be modified to fit ones physical limitations or needs.

There are three workout levels, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The more your progress, the more time you spend working out. But even for the time-crunched individual, you can amp up the basic level by following the advanced moves in that workout and still receive an effective workout.

This is a great addition to my Leslie walks.

A Great Total Body Workout
I really like the new SparkPeople Total Body Sculpting DVD. It has a great variety of workouts that not only focus on toning, but give me some cardio, some balancing, and plenty of strength training. The workouts are well thought out and each exercise flows from one movement to the other. Coach Nicole points out what to focus on as you do each exercise and she talks you thru a preview of the next exercise just before it begins. The exercises are clearly demonstrated in Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. The music has a good tempo, with an even pace, making very easy to keep up with. It has a great blend of exercises that works several issues at once. And it even has a 10 minute bonus cardio workout that will challenge everyone. It truly is a total body all-purpose workout video. I received this DVD for free from SparkPeople but did not receive any form of payment for my review.

Not for the faint of "knees"!
Over 55 minutes of lunges, squats, and pliés, many of which require balancing on one knee. If you have bad knees or knees that are going bad, I would not suggest buying this video. Some leg exercises done lying down (leg lifts, etc.) mixed into this video would have taken the constant pressure off the knees. Ab exercises are not even done lying down.
For toning workouts that are easier on the knees, you can't beat two oldies but goodies: Gilad 45/45 Split Routine Workout (my favorite!) and Richard Simmons: Blast & Tone.

Kid Creole & The Coconuts: Live at Rockpalast

seven year itch,pinch the bitch!!!
take equal parts cab calloway, tito puente and james brown, throw in a little bob marley and youve got the kid creole formula.in other words a non stop party.in the u s. almost no one outside of ny city ever heard of them, which is a real shame.in europe they were stars and these two concerts show why.their show i saw at radio city in nyc ranks as one the best ive ever seen .you owe it to yourself to own this.(but u can skip the conga line sequence at the end)

Finally!!
I watched this as well as many other of these shows live on TV . We either tried to tape while it was running when it was on the radio in parallel. Finally after 30 years most of them come out on CD or/and DVD!

It's a wonderful thing, Baby.
Wow!! These mofos really kick out the jams. This is actually two concerts and and about four hours of nonstop hard rocking funk. They are a first rate show band and don't hold anything back. The video quality is very good for the time period, but the Rockpalast folks always do an excellent job. The sound quality is very good as well. I recommend this very highly.

As for bonus features this set delivers with some really incredible never before seen stuff including a hidden Easter egg. Cast interviews and retrospective views from fans highlight 2 discs of amazing bonus features. The DVD cases are beautifully done and besides the Dino thunder used green ranger it's perfect. Also included in the set is a booklet containing loads of information. Charter bios, complete episode guide with a brief sentence or two about...

These were the best
I remember watching these as a kid. I saw they were on Netflix a little bit ago, but there's just something about having the DVD's that's going to make watching the episodes again more meaningful than watching them on Netflix.

Zakk Wilde Guitar Apprentice 6 DVD Set

Private Lessons with Zakk Wylde
This DVD set is a like a cross between Guitar Hero and your usual "private lesson" style video. You've got 3 DVD boxes, one box per song containing 2 DVD's one is the Zakk one-one the other is the Guitar Apprentice disc. I bought it for the Zakk Wylde one-on-one lessons, which are pretty sweet for what they are ~30min per song (so an hour and half) of song break downs. But let's be honest he doesn't cater to novices his "slow" is still very fast so keep that in mind. He shows the effects he uses (when and where to press the pedal even) the settings he uses etc... which isn't listed in the tab book for the album these songs come from so that's pretty sweet.

The Guitar Apprentice DVD's are kind of a fail for me, but then again I don't play Guitar Hero. I like to take a riff in its entirety take it slow and run the crap out of it till I get it then speed it up, this DVD on the slowest setting has you playing only say one note of the riff while the backing track plays the...

Badass
It's a great video to learn guitar. Zakk is the man! I want him to do some more with his earlier work.

All hail Zakk Wylde!!
Haven't had much time to get into this but from what I see, this set is awesome. Zakk takes the time to literally walk you through these songs, note for note.

John Adams: Nixon in China (The Metropolitan Opera HD Live) (DVD+Blu-Ray)

ON THE SCALE OF ONE TO FIVE, 100 STARS!
This opera is the best and the most important of the XXth Century and the history of American opera, period. Everything comes together for what Mallarmé once called "the
Total work of Art"--the perfect fusing of poetry, narrative, music, dance, staging and cinematography. Adams himself of the podium, The Dean (or Prima Donna Assoluta) of stage directors,Peter Sellers; the best opera chorus in the world; and a cast of incomparable performers (James Maddalena created the role in 1987 and still performs it--and watch Katheleen Kim as Madame Mao!) and dancers, the best staging I have ever seen in an opera house; an a libretto made up of the most poetic lines ever to be uttered by singers . . . . And then, humane, incisive, tender treatment of some of the century's greatest political monsters, revealing their shared humanity beneath their public masks (Janis Kelly is simply heartbreaking as Pat Nixon). I already own Klingshoffer and Dr. Atomicus. Now, if i could only find...

News, news, news news news... the flight was smoo-ooo-ooo-ooth
In February of 1972, President Nixon's plane landed in China. I went to a middle of the night dinner party to celebrate. The little black & white TV was on the table with the food. I was the youngest at the table. Of all the friends, at the party, except sleeping children... I think I am the only surviver. I'll just say that it's me, and Henry Kissinger who live on. It was a very big event in my life. About 15 years later John Adams and Peter Sellars had developed the opera. There have been many performances all over the world. I listened to a recording. Last year the Metropolitan Opera broadcast Nixon in China with John Adams conducting. I loved the PBS High Definition broadcast. This blu-ray disc is that performance. A DVD copy is included with the blu-ray. Since 1987, I have been singing "Smooo-oooth," and "News, news, news." Yes, everyone wonders.... I have never encountered another human who sings those hits, off stage. But, that is your loss dear friends.

I will...

Very happy to see this on DVD!
I didn't pay much attention to this opera until I saw the broadcast on PBS. I was delighted to see and hear this monumental work performed so very well.

All Access & Uncovered

Not all it could have been
First of all, I love Rascal Flatts as much as anyone else, but I also saw the movie in the theater. This DVD does not contain the entire movie, which is what I wanted. Instead, I guess the band made room for their last five videos along with a behind-the-scenes for each of those videos. I would have rather had the entire movie, which had more live performances. I can go to YouTube and watch their videos. If they would release the entire movie (maybe on Blu-Ray), I'd still buy it. Don't get me wrong. This DVD is enjoyable and worth getting, but it should have been the complete movie and not part of the movie with videos as additional features.

Gift for my husband and it was a hit.
This is a great video. We have already watched it multiple times, and even our grandchildren will come in and want us to show the "Life is a Highway guys"!! Makes for a great evening of family fun.

Fabulous insight into the making of the album and their lives
I loved this DVD. The personal interviews and background about the words in many of the songs made the songs even more special. Seeing their family members was also great. The many extra clips about various songs and videos from those songs was a fun, extra bonus.

Wingmen [HD]

Sad to see it go so quickly
First of all: I was really looking forward to having many seasons of this show. I really liked it, it was so funny. They had a great cast, which is a very important key in having in a series. My favorite characters are hard to choose from cause I loved them all. And 2ndly was upset to hear that Whitney is replacing it. Never heard of it. Thanks for not letting Animal Practice have a chance to develop. Will definitely buy the only season and wear it out watching it over and over again.

Funny show
Just dont get many clean shows anymore. Really cute and clean show for a change. Great. Love shows about little animals.

The pilot is good
If the writers and director continue in this level in all episodes , will be a great first season.
In my opinion this show is a great comedy/fun to saw after your hard working day.

much better than many reviews want you to believe!
Many fans have intentionally constructed harsh reviews to punish the BB organization for failing to produce a full-show or 50 song DVD film, so many of these negative reviews are a form of critical sabotage. Take then with a grain a salt, as the product is much better and more aesthetically fulfilling than the these will opponents will allow. Others have made more valid critiques of the photography and production artistry, and I myself was sensitized by their cautions when I first put the show on. However: because, despite any concerns, I was simply overwhelmed by the quality of the songs in themselves, the excellence of the performances, and the chance to see so many things that my shaking binoculars prevented me from seeing in concert.

I concede that there is a Platonic BB concert film in our imagination somewhere and perhaps even in the realm of earthly possibility, if the very best production and sound artists were in charge of every recording and filming detail...

Over too soon.
The first thing I want to do is respond to an earlier reviewer's claims that The Beach Boys sing to a studio track on the song "Isn't it Time". You are dead wrong! It's done live and it's wonderful as is the rest of this oh too short concert film. Why would The Beach Boys lip-sync when they have Brian Wilson's magnificent back -up band behind them literally doubling all the vocals. Not only does this allow the boys to relax and concentrate on their own harmonies but it makes for a much richer live reading of their classic works. For hardcore Beach Boy fans like myself, this concert thankfully contains a juicy center beginning with "Heroes and Villians", "Sloop John B", "Wouldn't it be Nice", "All This is That" (Which made me cry.), "That's Why God Made the Radio", "Sail On Sailor", "Good Vibrations" and the timeless "California Girls". I, like many other fans reviewing here, hope that this isn't going to be the only visual and audio record of this historic musical event that I feel so...

Amazed at the creativity

Coldplay: Live 2012 (CD/Blu-Ray)

Amazing Concert - not captured well on film
Out of 500+ concerts, this year's tour by Coldplay blew me away and jumped into my top 5 immediately. I flew to Dallas to see the show and then to Tampa, it was just so amazing and I am not the world's biggest Coldplay fan. I cannot explain the euphoric feeling that was at these shows, especially with the lit up wristbands.

The Blu Ray is a complete let down. I do not understand why people make concert films now that don't focus on one frame more than 2 seconds. This Blu Ray could cause a seizure, as it basically snapshots of 2 seconds of different angles, audience shots and fireworks chained together for the length of the film. I wanted to see the band play and I do like seeing the audience reaction, along with the stage show. There were some amazing effects on this tour, and sadly you get to see tiny little clips here and there. There's just no sense of cohesion to this "film". I cannot get engaged with the band on stage because of the fast edits, nor can I get...

Over aggressive camera work prevents this from being a 5-star release. The included CD suffers from the loudness wars.
Coldplay's first new live release since the Sidney, Australia, 2003 DVD is a welcome one, albeit a completely different type of live release. Where "Live 2003" was the entire night of an Australian show on the Rush of Blood to the Head tour, "Coldplay Live 2012" was shot at several venues and incorporates elements of a film/documentary instead, with five insightful interviews with the band members dotted throughout the "set list" as "intermissions".

High marks for the Blu-ray, which was released in scope format and will have black bars at the top and bottom of your screen even if you're watching on a 16:9 widescreen HDTV. This IS normal, no need to try and adjust your set. Coldplay released this in the cinemas for a short engagement and that is likely the reason behind the aspect ratio choice, although I would have welcomed it being released re-cut to 16:9 for home video release given that it is a concert film and no real loss would have occurred unlike what can happen with...

Very disappointed
I was there (in Paris, Stade de France with my Mimine (french fancy name given to my girlfriend)).

Nothing in this Blu-ray falls short of the amazing concert we attended to. I wonder what a guy like Steven Spielberg would have done with the filmed material. The image just doesn't capture the emotion of that early night of September. The editing is so jerky it must have been done by a teenager and the sound is muffled.

This is un insult to this amazingly creative band!

Bethenny's Skinnygirl Yoga Workouts

Good Yoga Workouts
These DVD's are done as if the trainer is giving Bethenny and us a yoga lesson. Bethenny chimes in periodically to ask questions or make comments, but the instructors do the teaching. Both instructors are very easy to follow and both of them stress the importance of doing the poses correctly and breathing throughout.

Body By Bethenny is a great 40-minute workout taught by Kristin McGee. Bethenny's Skinny Girl Workout, with Mike McArdie, is done in three segments so you can (supposedly) choose the length that works for you. Since I hadn't done yoga in a while I chose the 15 minute segment. 30 minutes later I looked at the clock wondering why it hadn't ended. I guess I was supposed to be timing myself and just shut it off? But it doesn't seem like they would give time options if you still had to time yourself. The workout was great, but I was sore afterwards. Next time I will set an alarm so that I know when I can stop. This odd flaw would not stop me from buying...

Injured runner needed a Yoga lesson.
Excellent. I have never found a DVD workout that I could either stand the instructor or at the appropriate level for my fitness. (I have probably purchased 10+ DVDs in search of a do-able workout that still has an edge) I am not overweight and have been an avid runner for 10+ years. However, after having babies and throwing my back out lifting them...I had to address the fact that my body needs some strength, stretching and TLC. This workout set is just right. I felt like I had done something and Bethenny is entertaining to listen to over and over. Not too pushy...just is. I have tried Jillian's workout...As a working mom doing these DVDs at 4am...I don't need the "pump up" for motivation and it is hard on my body at that time in the morning. If you are looking for a hard workout that won't damage your already injured body. This is great...Even when I start running again...I will keep this DVD in rotation at least 2x week for strength and stretching! P.S. the kids love doing the moves...

Great workout for exercise (not relaxation)
These DVDs have great workouts. It's nice that the workouts are broken down into modules so that you can choose what you want to do. For example, I skipped to section 2 on the Skinnygirl Workout yesterday because I was already warmed up from a bike ride and I added the additional stretching section to the end. Both of the yoga instructors are great and give good directions with modifications. I wanted to title this review "Great workout for cynical people," or something similar. If you're looking for chi and relaxation, this isn't for you. If you're looking for a workout, this is totally for you. If you get bored during yoga, this is a good set of DVDs because Bethenny cracks jokes and isn't afraid to comment on things hurting or wanting to take a break. I'd rented Skinnygirl Workout from the library and knew I wanted to buy it. I'm glad I got the set because I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Body by Bethenny.

An Introduction to the work of George Lindsay

Excellent overview of basic market movements
I have also read George Lindsay and the Art of Timing. This was the 2011 Investment book of the year. This DVD is a quick overview of Lindsay and the concepts in the book.

The market moves in waves of emotion. Having a big picture view of typical market oscillations is worth the price of this introductory disc. The market provides us a changing picture all the time. What Lindsay's concepts allow you to understand is where you are in the journey from a market bottom to a cycle high. Beginning investors will appreciate how the model explains different parts of the cycle. More advanced investors will find it helps take their focus off the immediate term and refocus on where you are in the big picture. One of the primary goals of Technical Analysis is the awareness of when major market drops are about to occur so you can protect your investments. This video will introduce you to understanding the lead up to those market formations. Do you know how long bull markets last? That...

This was very good, I think it is a great stocking stuffer.
I hope you buy my dad's dvd for your friends.

Official 2007 World Series Film

Well done package
I purchased this yesterday at my local Mall. I don't know if it was supposed to on the shelves yet but what the heck I bought it. I had a great time reliving another memorable Bosox playoff comeback and some great not seen before footage. The extras were interesting though, the audio was almost muted on most of them and what I was looking forward to seeing again was the final 3 outs of game 4 was edited down to showing the clubhouse as it was prepared for the chamagne celebration then cutting to the long fly ball caught by Ellsbury right to the final 3 pitches of the last batter. Oh well, it was great re-living all of it , enjoy...

Red Sox AND Rockies World Series DVD
I'm a huge Red Sox fan, but this is a DVD that even a Colorado Rockies fan can enjoy. The only other World Series DVD I purchased was for the 2004 Red Sox, so my comparison is tied to that DVD.

The biggest difference I've found between the 2007 World Series DVD and the 2004 World Series DVD is that the 2007 DVD is more evenly balanced between Red Sox coverage and Rockies Coverage. The 2004 World Series DVD spent maybe two or three minutes on the Cardinals whereas the 2007 version spends much more time on the Rockies, the series they won and the players on their team.

There is less 'regular season' footage in the 2007 edition and by less I mean virtually none. I have to say I enjoyed the 2004 edition where the DVD started from spring training, went thru the trade deadline (Remember Nomar?) and then of course the 'fight' between A-Rod and Varitek. With all due respect to the 2007 season, I don't think there were as many polarizing events as there were in...

Red Sox World Series DVD 2007
The DVD was amazing. It just really takes you through the whole postseason experience the Red Sox had in 2007. Although I myself am a Red Sox fan, I also really enjoyed how much time in the video was spent on celebrating the Rockies historic run. Overall, fantastic DVD!

Soul Eater: The Complete Series

The Price
The last time I have watched Soul Eater was in 2010 on Hulu and FUNimation's Youtube channel, and I found it to be extremely entertaining. But this review isn't about the show itself. It's about the prices. FUNimation so far has released three versions of this series. The first releases were in four parts (Part 1-3 contains 13 episodes and Part 4 contains the remaining 12 episodes),the second release were in two parts, Meister & Weapon (The Meister Collection contained the first 26 episodes and The Weapon Collection contained the remaining 25 episodes), and this release is the Complete series with all 51 episodes. I find it strange that the DVD version of this is $44.99 yet the Blu-Ray version (which is superior to DVD) only cost $20.99! That's an insane price for a complete series box set with all the episodes in BLU-RAY! This is cheaper than any Soul Eater release you will find on Amazon.

Hold on to your soul!
The DWMA (Death Weapon Meister Academy) is a school that trains weapons and meisters to fight together to defeat kishin. A weapon must consume 99 kishin souls and one witch's soul in order to become a Death Scythe, one of Lord Death's own weapons. The series follows three student pairs - Maka and her scythe Soul, Black Star and his ninja weapon Tsubaki, and Death the Kid, with twin pistols Liz and Patty. Each pair has their own little quirks and strengths. Soul places great emphasis on "coolness", Black Star is extremely narcissistic, and Kid is OCD and obsessed with "symmetry". When these students aren't out battling evil, they are dealing with problems at school - teachers raising from the dead, mad scientists trying to dissect them, and the surprisingly short quest to find the legendary sword Excalibur. Plus a whole lot more, but you don't want me to ruin it for you, do you?

The art and design for this series is of the hate it or love it style. It is very creative, a bit...

Your soul is mine!
"A sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body." If a soul becomes evil, it has the potential to turn into a demonic kishin -- which is when the meisters and their shapeshifting weapon/partners come in. "Soul Eater Parts 1 and 2" is a solid beginning to a well-written, deliciously Halloweeny fantasy series, with solid writing and a twisty-turny subplot that promises to get even better with time.

The meisters of the DWMA work for Lord Death to keep the world from being overrun with kishin -- they get rid of evil souls, kill monsters, battle witches, and try to collect souls so that their weapon/partners can become Death Scythes. Among their number are Maka and her scythe Soul Eater, narcissistic ninja Black Star and Tsubaki, and Death's OCD son Death the Kid and his twin pistols Patty and Liz.

But nabbing the right combination of evil souls isn't their only problem: they have to grapple with zombies, mad scientists, the legendary sword Excalibur, a...

Jodi Stolove's Chair Dancing Chair Yoga

Absolutely Wonderful!
Jodi has discovered how to bring the beauty and relaxation of Yoga to folks who are unable to do regular Yoga. Just because these exercises are done sitting on a chair doesn't mean that they are less than the real thing! I love the way I feel while concentrating on the routines and how I feel for the rest of the day. I wholeheartedly recommend the Chair Yoga as well as all of Jodi's other programs! Her caring for the physically-challenged is awesome and inspiring.

Wonderful DVD; too bad it is hard to get.
I tried a bunch of seated exercise DVDs. This is the ONLY one I found that I liked. Here is a short list of positive features.
Music is inoffensive.
Shows individuals of all body types, ages, and races, and types of dress.
Shows how exercises can be done at different levels of difficulty.
Not too complex, but not trivial either.
Authentic, good adaptations of yoga exercises.
Well-sequenced, good selection.
Not too long, and possible to select subset.
Reasonable energy level.
Speaker is positive without being silly.
Not too wordy, but enough talking to facilitate doing steps.

Perhaps it is just a good match for me, but I liked it, find it enjoyable, and it makes me feel good. Every other DVD I tried, I had a problem with either the music or the actors or the voice or the exercises themselves: I either found it annoying or foolish or offensive or uninspiring or just something I would never do.

Only one 1/2 hour routine
The instruction, instructor, and class are all OK, upbeat and good models. However, I was prepared for an hour of yoga, and maybe a second routine for the next day. The DVD has only one, 1/2 hour routine. It would have cost them very little to add another one or two 1/2 hour lessons to the tape. I feel seriously gypped and taken advantage of.

For the $20 price you can get a lot more. I recommend "Yoga for Caregivers". It has many more poses, several lessons, is 140 minutes long, is safe and gentle, is effective, and costs under $10 on Amazon.

It just gets better, and better, and.......
The new Volume Three box of ATHF is even more insane than the first three seasons of the show. For rabid fans of the show, and of the Adult Swim programming block on Cartoon Network in general, it's an obvious must-have.

For those out there who still wonder what the fuss is all about, I'll try to explain. While some of the other "adult" animation series make a pretense of pushing the envelope of taste, content, and creativity, the brilliant minds behind ATHF, like The Braak Show and Space Ghost before it (thank God for the Turner Animation group and the Williams Street Studio crew), just simply toss the envelope out the window. Focused stream-of-conciousness--with abandoned pop-culture and animation leftovers as a prop shop--this is the stage that ATHF occupies. As another reviewer remarked sometime back, imagine if Samuel Beckett wrote and produced a Saturday morning cartoon show for adults, using an assemblage of kiddie-tune cliches from the 60s to the 90s. What you...

Tales of Masked Men: A Journey Through Lucha Libre

Very well made documentary...
I tuned in to watch Tales of Masked Men knowing very little about the world of Lucha Libre. When my brothers and I were kids we would watch Lucha Libre because it was more fun to watch men with masks on wrestling than it was to watch the ones without. So aside from watching periodically I can say that I never knew the history behind it. Being curious to find out more about the sport I wanted to watch this documentary.

From the beginning I was drawn to the stories of these wrestlers and their origins. I loved the blending of history with the profiles of actual wrestlers past and present. The music, the graphics, the colors all came together and wove a really great show. I highly recommend watching this documentary even if you know very little about the sport. Very informative and well made.

Great History
I really liked this documentary. You can tell that the people who filmed it and the ones in the documentary love Lucha Libre and have so much respect for it. My only complaint-I wish it was longer. Great history lesson!

Answers many questions...
... but not enough to understand the attraction these characters hold for my students.... Well done documentary and I thought well researched.

Shiva Rea: Daily Energy Collection

love-tastic
I love this set!! I had done a small part on demand of the more daily energy and HAD to buy it! It is challenging yet it can still be done by someone who is not a yoga professional. I really think this Dvd set makes a difference in my moods because it is calming as well as a full body workout!

A great way to start or end the day!
I was having lots of lower back pain and decided to give yoga a try to help. Shiva Rea's DVD is both challenging and soothing - a wonderful choice!

Stretch
Very good video set and easy to follow. You want to stick with it once you start. Easy to fit into a routine.

Pretty Dissapointing
I had very high hopes for this release, especially after last years holiday release for Stone Cold. I am pretty sad to say this release is a major letdown. To have a documentry on the most exciting era of wrestling ever at a shallow runtime of 57 minutes is a joke. I can tell this product was rushed with little planning. The documentry was not very good at all. Did not explain much, just some random attitude era clips.

I have also watched some of the bonus features, which are good. One problem though is you can not play all. You have to wait for the disc to load back to main menu. This gets frustrating since most of the clips so far have been 2-5 minutes. I don't want to go back to main menu after every short clip. Let me play all till I get tired.

All in All the content is good, but the product is not. It has very rushed feel, which is sad. I would like better documentry and ability to play all special features at once. WWE did not put much thought into this...

A Review of Attitude
I'm only gonna talk about the Documentary itself, because let's face it, we're not buying this for the extras. To me, this seem more like a quick review of the Attitude Era instead of a real in-depth documentary that we all wanted. Instead of behind-the-scenes interviews that reveal what went on behind the titan-tron, we get superstars talking about how great certain matches were and discussing the how great the wrestlers were at that time. Sure, you get a few behind-the-scenes tidbits here and there, but I feel that they were too scattered.

Instead of telling the Attitude Era from start to finish, they chose to talk about varied subjects in what almost seems like in random order. Throughout the entire less-then-an-hour film, the superstars are constantly saying how they were too edgy, and how they weren't for kids, despite admitting several times that they weren't marketing towards kids at the time.

Overall I feel this was a quickly put together film that's...

Craft in America: Crossroads -Season 4

A continuation of the Pottery in America
This series has become a discourse on the pottery in America. To bad as there are so many other wonderful craft artists active in America.

Great Series
This is one in the history of craft making in America. I love the different crafts and to learn about the makers

Love this series.
If you enjoy craft of all kind this is the series to see. I have all the seasons and this new season does not disapoint. Very enjoyable to share with other crafters. I often have this series playing on the TV as I quilt.

Canyon Ranch: Yoga for Strength & Energy

Great stretches and flow!
This is a great video, especially if you want a shorter workout or just a good and quick stretch. I am very happy that I made this purchase. I have a large collection of workout and yoga videos and this is now one of my favorites. I personally feel better, more energized and healthy after using it. I highly recommend it. If you are new to yoga though, I suggest you watch it through first before doing it, it can be slightly difficult to follow if you are not used to the poses.

Canyon Ranch Yoga DVD
This is definitely one of the very best Yoga DVD's that I have had. Very good cueing so that you can flow thru it without haveing to look at the screen. You will find yourself in the pose and in the moment. She is motivating and puts forth positive energy. I recommend this DVD for anyone. I have tried several and have very few favorites BUT this is definetely going to be a favorite. It is motivating and energizing. She gives plenty of options on each pose so whether you have been practicing for a while or just beginning you will find yourself flowing through the poses. She uses the sanskrit and common terms for the poses so you don't have to be pro. It moves at a good pace.

Canyon Ranch: Yoga for Strenth and Energy
I adore this DVD, exactly what I was hoping for and I have practiced yoga for several years. I have done yoga out and at home, this one is worth it, just refreshingly different from what I have been practicing over the years.

Tenchi in Tokyo: Box Set

Here they go again
If you are a fan of the series I strongly suggest purchasing this well priced product. This Tenchi series explores the gang and their seperation with Tenchi as he goes to Tokyo to train as a priest. This series is one of my favorite not for the animation or hilarity, and the comedy is rather good in this installment, but rather that this series shows Tenchi making a choice with his love life and the ramifications of that choice. This series does come with its problems like low production animation in some episodes and bad translations in some parts if you watch the japanese audio, but this series never stops from being both charming and interesting. The characters are cared for and it shows in this series. The sense of family is this series greatest triumph. So if you are a fan of the series I would strongly suggest this and if you are not, though I still suggest watching it, it would be best to start with the OVA's first to better get a handle on the series and what it's...

my favorite
This is not the second or the last, its the third. Apparently the other people haven't watched all of them. I really enjoyed this series it's not the same but i think that was a good thing watching the same storyline over and over would just get old i think the first 3 series (Tenchi muyo, Tenchi universe, and Tenchi in tokyo) are all worth buying tho im not sure about GXP they seemed to go way out there replacing characters.

I'm satisfied with this series.
This finally completes my Tenchi collections. I like the tie together in the end of the series very much. Of course, like other Tenchis the story seems to reset itself while keeping the same characters for the most part. Anyway, I'm glad to have all the Tenchi sets xD.

Fry Legs [HD]

Another Great ATHD DVD For Your Collection!
Okay, so this is another great ATHF DVD for your collection. The episodes are hilarious (way better than the past few seasons), and the contents of this DVD are great. There are two cons: only one disc, only 11 episodes. All the other ATHF sets had two discs and had around 13 episodes (some had more). However, it has great special features, like recording the Rubberman song, Carl auditions for the live action episode, Terror-Phone 2, and more. The box art is interesting, with a Carl-designed cardboard case on the outside and a generic DVD case inside. As I stated earlier, the episodes on this DVD beat the hell out of the past two seasons of ATHF. Not that those seasons were bad, but these episode are far superior!

Episodes on this disc (in order of how they are on the DVD):
1. Creature From Plaque Lagoon
2. Time Machine
3. Two-And-A-Half Star Wars Out Of 5
4. Fry Legs
5. Der Inflatable Fuhrer
6. The Last One Forever And Ever
7...

Strong Season, pretty good DVD.
The episodes on this set are good. I even like the live action one. I feel like the episodes are overall stronger than vol.6.

Major complaints:

-They have switched to a one disc format which means
-less total episodes
-slightly slimmer special features
-Less deluxe of packaging

-they changed the order of some of the episodes (rabbot redux should have logically followed "the last one forever and ever") and they removed the christmas special from the lineup even though it came out before "rabbot redux"

Overall though, the inclusion of a sequel to Terror Phone adds alot to the special features. The special features are still really good this time around even though they seem a bit slimmer. They packed ALOT of stuff onto one disc.

Delicious Absurdity
I love the ATHF series to death, but as the series has moved on, it's gone from "really weird" to "completely effed up". The caliber of oddity that season seven produces is easily the strangest yet and carries with it the high probability of alienating some fans. Personally? I love it. Seven seasons in, a television series can only hope to be as fresh as ATHF is and remain something the original fans want to continue watching.

Are you a fan? Do you like the "weirdness" that the series has been cultivating since season 4? Then this is right up your alley. If not? Well, you've got the series reboot with Aqua Unit Patrol Squad.

Ancient Aliens: Season Four

An Impressive Fourth Season
The History Channel has found its footing once again with the newest season of Ancient Aliens. While some of the theories remain "out there", these episodes explore many possible connections to alien intervention.

The show itself is first-class when providing historical background and finding similarities between unexplained events throughout Earth's ancient past. However, the conclusions that are made are still speculative and do not always directly link these mysterious events to aliens. All other possibilities seem to be dismissed and we are left with "it was aliens and couldn't have been anything else" as explanations.

The episodes are entertaining and will make anyone with an open mind second-guess the history we were led to believe.

More Amusing Speculation, But Doesn't Include Five Announced Episodes Of Season Four That Haven't Been Aired Yet
First and foremost, History Channel's "Ancient Aliens" is an entertainment program and if you have an interest in the topic (whether or not you believe it), it can be a fun show. Just look at the episode titles if you are on the fence about how seriously you want to take this as science or history. Aliens really can't be responsible for everything that has ever happened on Earth, can they? Tales of mysterious and unexplained phenomenon, folklore and legend, and intergalactic speculation cross all international boundaries and are an inherent part of ancient history and cultural iconography. And as this documentary series began in its first season, it did a good job acknowledging the various interpretations of alien myths across the globe. However, the more we progress--the theories and/or premises behind the show have become a little thinner, a little more hit or miss. I suppose that was to be expected as the program has already delved into the biggest, most well known, and most...

ALIENS
GREAT DVD SERIES......ALL 4. MAKES YOU THINK AND REALIZE WHAT THIS WORLD IS ABOUT. THE SERIES IS WONDERFULLY DONE WITH INTELLIGENT PEOPLE SPEAKING.

Episode 2: Reaping the Whirlwind [HD]

Masterful
I was fortunate enough to see a preview cut of The Dust Bowl last week in an event hosted by PBS and it's typical Ken Burns. Burns revolutionized the documentary format in 1990 with The Civil War. His style and technique changed the way stories are told now by historians and filmakers around the world through film. So it should come as no surprise that The Dust Bowl is yet another great work by the masterful director. The film documents the Dust Bowl through iconic pictures and film as Burns usually does, but it is told through the eyes of the survivors in a way that makes the experience even more powerful. I would describe the film as The Worst Hard Time comes ALIVE! If you enjoyed the book by Timothy Egan you will no doubt love this film. If you have not read the book by all means do yourself a favor and do so. Egan is a major contributor of course along with other historians as they are used to frame the events of the era, but it is the "survivors" that truly make the film special...

Bluray Review: Great story, Fabulous characters but a bit repetitive
What John Ford attempted (and, in my opinion, succeeded) to do in the 1940 feature film "The Grapes of Wrath" - to put a human face on those farmers and their families who survived the challenges of the deadly dust storms, as well as the Great Depression in the "dust bowl quadrant" during the 1930s - Ken Burns has succeeded with his latest four-hour documentary that aired on PBS in November 2012 and was released by PBS Home Video on Blu-ray with some bonus features. If you've seen Burns' documentaries on the Civil War or World War Two, you will have an idea of what to expect. Actor Peter Coyote is back as narrator and Burns chose specific families whose members are still alive to tell their own stories. When Burns planned the film he took out ads in the four-state area which comprised the "dust bowl" seeking survivors. He received over 70 responses and - through a process of elimination, chose more than two dozen to interview at great length. These were individuals who were children...

Tales of the Black Blizzard
It starts with a few words: "Let me tell you how it was." In the space of four hours, Ken Burns tells you how it was on the great wide plains of America, in the 1930's, in the Dust Bowl.

Ken Burns' real talent is his focus on the average man and woman. Rather than focusing on the famous, the politicians and celebrities (though they do come into play at times), he introduces us to names from history that we never knew. So, in 'The Dust Bowl,' we get the story of the college-trained writer who set up a homestead in no-man's land, finding her husband there. We hear the story of the family with nine children, and the ambition to pass on a square mile of fertile land to each of them. We hear the stories of children born into a world of blowing dust and dirt, of some who survive, and some who didn't make it.

Make no mistake, this is a story of struggle and human endurance stretched to the limit, of hopes raised and then dashed again, year after year. It's a story of...

Eclipse Series 37: When Horror Came to Shochiku (The X from Outer Space; Goke, Body Snatcher from Hell; The Living Skeleton; Genocide) (Criterion Collection)

long-awaited treasure... and a great price for the product
I've been waiting years and years for 3 of the 4 of these films to be released domestically. Now, not only has that happened, it's via Criterion, the films are NOT dubbed (hooray) and THEY LOOK ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.

LIVING SKELETON in particular benefits SO much from the treatment here. My goodness... the black-&-white cinematography is GORGEOUS. I'd only seen a 4th generation video of it. Once. And while that whet my appetite it in no way prepared me for this. Mind you, the stunning, restored, crisp print showcases the less-than-stunning, rubber and plastic skeletons and bats which appear throughout the movie. However, the whole film is so, so like a sleepwalking trance, that the very Japanese fantasy elements, which are still, on one level, laughable, are, in my opinion, forgiveable. Wacky, dream-logic maze of strangeness and self-destruction. And the lead actress is HAUNTINGLY beautiful.

GENOCIDE, too, looks marvelous and captivates despite its curious tone,...

WOW
I have only seen two these before X From Outer Space & Goke and have waiting a long time for them to come because they are both fantastic, but I was amazed that the other two are just as great too. WOW is all I can say if you enjoy japanese sci-fi horror you really need to scoop these up. ProgMark

Velveeta from the Western Pacific
It's a shame the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 crew never got to these four films produced by the Shochiku Company in the late 60s. As mentioned by at least one other reviewer, if you can get past the B movie technical aspects (or, perhaps, wallow in them) you'll find some subtle and rather nuanced messages contained in these movies -- the anti-Americanism, anti-imperialism, and perhaps racism of Genocide, for instance. The only one that didn't work for me was The X from Outer Space, which largely devolved into a boring and repetitious set of destructive scenes by a guy in a rubber chicken outfit. I don't know that I'd buy these at full price, but if you can find this set at a discount or through your library, I believe you can find a few hours of entertaining distraction here. And if you're a devotee of science fictional cheese, particularly the Asian variety, then you've got to experience these films for sure.

Fall Feast

Great show!
I'm really enjoying this glimpse into the Kilcher family's 600+ acre homestead and their self sufficient lifestyle in the Alaskan wilderness. Very interesting how they originally came to be there. Eighty years ago the first Kilcher fled war-torn Europe with his wife to establish an independent life in America, and their descendants are carrying on that tradition. Farming in Virginia is tough enough for our family, but nothing compared to the Kilcher's daily struggle to survive. I'm cheering them on, especially through those interminable winters. I'm as far north as I care to be in the Shenandoah Valley.

A Must Watch !
This show takes you back to a time when we wanted and needed family, and worked for our own survival, not for material value. An honest living, true happiness and satisfaction. Making it through life's struggles together ... and in such a savage and beautiful place ! There is still a little bit of it left in all of us !

I have always loved a pioneering spirit
The Kilchers seem like a very honest, intriguing and down-to-earth family. I can't wait for season 2. I hope there is more about Eve's garden. I would love to see how she does it. Also, I hope to see a trip to town, with dialogue about how often they go to town and for what purposes. I'm also ready for them to publish a recipe book. Some of those meals they show look delicious.

Even with the contradictions, I'm a huge fan. Eivan says he has no running water, yet he and Eve are washing a plucked chicken under a spigot of running water. He says he has no electricity, but I see solar panels on the side of his house and a power meter on the side of Atz Lee's house.

Love the show!

The Aviators (Season 1)

Just okay
The content would always look like it was going to be interesting but the interviewing/editing/writing was bad. For example, one show was at the Sun & Fun air show in Florida. They just kept talking about how much fun they were having and how awesome it was, but as a viewer I didn't feel like I had been there or even learned much. The writers should have listened to their freshman year composition teachers and included details and personal experiences instead of generalizations.

Great stuff for those interested in aviation
Nice format of little pieces of flying info. Great for those not fully into flying but have the interest.
Doug

Fun series to discover
Put wings on it and I am a fan. This was a good introduction to the series and anchored with a rather lightweight story about the biggest airshow in the world, EAA's Airventure in Oshkosh, WI.

InstruMENTAL Inspirations: Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, Tony MacAlpine & Derek Sherinian

Not just for drummers
I know this DVD was put out by DrumChannel.com, but all 4 guys get equal time -- it's not all centered on Portnoy.
Sheehan, MacAlpine, and Portnoy are just great -- and nothing too over the top.
I'm not too big of a Sherinian fan, but I think in this setting, he works out quite well.
And the selection of songs is quite diverse -- a very good mix.
The interviews with each artists are also great, especially for folks unfamiliar with each artist's background.

Guy's you want to hang out with...
Recieved my copy of this fantastic studio project with some of the top music artists (in my book). I wish to thank you all who worked on this. I particularly want to thank you for the emotion I felt during the interview segments, I have been busy with life and you reaquainted me with names I hadn't heard or thought of for many years. Cobham, Corea, Yan Hammer to name a few.

Have been revisiting my musical roots of late and it's had a profound impact on my frame of mind. I suppose if you don't get it the first time, than take a deeper look and don't just listen, but hear the expression, commitment and love these guy's have for there craft. All music is good but some is better than others...this a great example of that.

Buy this video and see for yourself, you'll thank them too.

nah
There's not a lot of inspiring dialogue here, just guys shredding on their instruments. Camera work is good. Audio is good. But I was hoping for artistic insights from each guy. Nope.

About the best thing said was by Billy Sheehan. "Come prepared. Do your shedding so that when it comes time to play together you're not suffering through the difficult parts, but enjoying them."

Christmas With Danny Kaye

Two Happy Holiday Episodes of The Danny Kaye Show
I just got this two episode DVD of THE DANNY KAYE SHOW--Christmas episodes from 1963 (the first season) and 1966 (the fourth and final season). What a joy! I really enjoyed watching them. I will watch them again with my family at Christmas. If you love classic TV variety shows (as I do) you will really enjoy this.

Danny Kaye - the "total entertainer". When variety show ruled!
Danny Kaye was an American icon - though, sadly, unknown to today's TV and movie generation. He was not only a great movie actor (who over, 60 didn't grow up thinking Has Christian Andersen looked exactly like Kaye?) and comedian, but he was one of early television's top entertainers. He could sing, dance, do comedy sketches and pronounce some of the must difficult languages - including some he actually made up! And, I'm not even mentioning all the children's charity work he did for the United Nations. He was - like jazz legend Louis Armstrong (who co-starred with Kaye in the film "The Five Pennies") - a real Ambassador!

In the 1960s Kaye had a TV variety show - a genre that really no longer exists - and luckily he was able to preserve the videotapes. They are now owned - as far as I know - by his only child, Dena and this is what I certainly hope is the first in a series of DVD releases. 2012 marks the Kaye Centenary and, just in time for Christmas comes the DVD with two...

A Danny Kaye, Harvey Korman & Jamie Farr Christmas! But 7 minutes cut from episode 2.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Harvey Korman & Jamie Farr as regulars. I have not seen this show since it's original broadcasts and didn't remember these two talents being a part of the show.
And seeing a "Dick Van Dyke Show" aged Mary Tyler Moore outside of that show brought me back to 1963. I'm not used to seeing her at that young age outside of the D.V.D. show.

What makes these shows pleasant is that everyone seems to be having fun, especially when Jamie Farr gets accidentally tied to a chair and can't get loose!

SHOW #1 Episode #1.14 Dec. 25, 1963 (B&W - 51 minutes) The video quality of the first show is as good as the old B&W video cameras can give. It seems to be mastered from the original video tape and not a 16mm film kinescope. The image is sharp, however there are dark halos around any bright objects creating a kind of solar-eclipse effect. The audio is clear as it is important to hear the clarity of the songs.

I liked this special.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Some of the other reviews didn't give it a very good review, I think some people even just didn't like it at all. I did like it. Mr. May and the Hamster do have a different chemistry together without Clarkson, I just see it as another way to go. The comedy is more low key, the stunts are just as good though! Some of the games they come up with are really pretty funny, and for me the cars they show were almost all my favorites or near the top favs, so that was cool for me.

am familiar with some of the same controls, menus and options on the new camera. But my wife is not, so with the DVD, she
is able to see and experiment with the camera hands on and can go back if the explanation was too fast or confusing. Also I am
learning using the D600 and the new items on it too. The presentation goes along at a pretty fast clip, but thats ok, you can

The European New Wave & New Director's New Forms

One of the The Best Resources Online
For anyone working in film or video production who missed film school, this piece is a must. Beautifully produced, it covers film history from the perspective of directors seeking to use the means to explore and express truth -- social, political, psychological and spiritual. Clips from the great films of the past century are used as illustration. Key directors, actors and actresses involved in those films are interviewed. These, combined with the insights of the narrator, Mark Cousins, are extremely helpful to anyone engaged in film or video production--or anyone interested in film beyond the level of Hollywood gloss. This is much more of a philosophical and intellectual history than a mere chronicle of technical evolution.

Not a producer but a film lover? This piece will point you in the direction of films you may have missed that will greatly enhance your experience with the medium. 15 hours -- find the time. Highly recommended.

Les Miserables: 10th Anniversary Dream Cast

An Exemplary Tenth Anniversary Concert Receives A Noticeable (And Appreciated) Sound Upgrade
I was going to say that the eagerly anticipated film version of "Les Miserables" had brought about a resurgence of interest in the long beloved musical. But let's face it, that's simply not true. Why? Because "Les Miserables" has never faded from our minds, it is an enduring classic that simply refuses to slip into our memories. In the last few months alone, I've seen Tom Hooper's film interpretation, re-watched the 25th Anniversary Concert on PBS, and enjoyed the re-release of this 10th Anniversary Concert DVD. That's a lot of misery and heartbreak for one individual to endure! Having seen various staged versions of the musical over the past twenty years, I must admit that initially it wasn't one of my favorites. Okay, chastise me now. But with time, I've come to appreciate the piece's intricate score (and stand-out songs) with more and more reverence upon different viewings. And I am certainly now to be counted among the Les Mis fanatics!

This concert was enacted...

Now that you've seen the Film, see (and hear) the original cast members and learn the backstory.
With the new feature film version now flooding theaters across the country, it was a perfect time for BB Home Video to reissue the 10th Anniversary Concert (held in 1995 at Royal Albert Hall). As you will see from reviewer "Richard M"s review there were some minor "corrections" to the earlier release but the print has been newly remastered and will look great on any TV.

The neat thing about the concert - which fills Disc One (bonuses are on Disc Two) - is that there are members of both the London and Broadway casts and they all have singing voices. (as opposed to the 2012 movie version which has actors not known for singing - doing just that.).

My fellow reviewer - jjCeo - has already listed the detailed contents so I won't repeat those fact. I will say that if you just found Les Mis from the film version, you'll probably want this to see original cast members and see the bonus features, including the one- hour documentary on the "Making of Les Mis"

I...

Best Les Mis
This is the best version of Les Miserables out there! The original stars in key rules were all superb. I rushed to buy this after seeing the movie because these performances are superior. I love the encore the Jean Val Jeans from around the world.

Love

too funny
if you have seen this show on adult swim then you know how naive oral can be and how backwards Moralton can be.

A satisfying deity.
When Tommy gets put in the Special class for retarded children he finally has made it home because when the teacher is away the other kids pull out the books on philosophy and science.
It just demonstrates how odd the puritanical little town of Moralton is and sets us up for a series of apolegetics jokes for the blunders of a perfect deity.

Orel: "Mom, God is perfect, right?"
Mother: "Yes, he's the most handsome, understanding and... satis..fying.. man a woman could ask for."

Love it
I love this show. It's incredible how insanely blind the characters can be. Why doesn't Amazon have the first season?

Agatha Christie's Miss Marple: Movie Collection

Miss Marple: Hollywood Style
The first thing that catches your eye (rather your ear) about these 4 approximately 90 minute movies made by MGM in the 1960s is the catchy theme music used in the opening and closing credits. These 4 films may not be the in depth stories shown on BBC (and then A&E or PBS) in the mid to late 80s, but they are still delightful thanks to the performance of their star Margaret Rutherford, who brings some humor to the role. The 2 other regulars in them are Stringer Davis as her friend Jim Stringer (notice the similar name) who "strings" along and eventually helps her solve the case, and Charles Tingwell as the Scotland Yard Inspector amazed and sometimes befuddled by the "old bat's" Sherlock Holmes like methods to solve mysteries. In Murder She Said (a sort of variation on 4:50 From Paddington) Miss Marple poses as a maid at a mansion near a train station where she witnessed a murder on a passing train trying to solve the case. Look for future BBC/PBS Miss Marple Joan Hickson in this...

The Inimitable Margaret Rutherford As The Inimitable Jane Marple
Margaret Rutherford was a scene-stealing, eccentric force of nature in all her movies, and I suspect in her stage roles as well. She had a shape like a sack of produce, a double chin that trembled with a life of its own, little eyes that could widen in shock or squint with suspicion and, when her characters were aroused, a forceful stride that took all before it. Her personality was simply unique. The only other actor I can think of who matched her in eccentricity, potential ham and acting skill was Alastair Sim, another memorable British screen presence.

In Murder She Said, Rutherford plays Agatha Christie's Miss Jane Marple. Rather, she plays Rutherford's Miss Jane Marple. She made four Marple films, but I doubt if anyone reading Christie's stories would ever have envisaged Rutherford in the part. Now, for many people, Marple is Rutherford. She's that strong a character.

Jane Marple is on a train when she looks out at another train passing by on the next track...

Definitive Miss Marple
It is really great to see all four of these wonderful movies with incomporable Margaret Rutherfort finally being released in the United States. I have bought my set a couple of years ago from amazon in the United Kingdom and enjoying it ever since. It is completely sold out in Britain so I would get a copy while it's available.

Season 3 raises the bar
I enjoyed this show's initial two seasons, but often thought the writing was a bit weak.

Season three raises the bar with much better dialog, story realism, and intensity.

This has become a very fun show!

Covert Affairs season 3
This is a great fun series; good acting and interesting plots will be enjoyed by those who like the spy genre of show. It really helps to have seen the first 2 series since this one will make much more sense in terms of the story line. The locales are cool, and the action is fast-paced and never boring. the acting is good and it looks like everyone had fun in making this series. Highly recommended.

Covert Affairs is a show you won't want to miss!
Spy/suspense/intrigue genre with emphasis on character development and plots that flow from each episode to the next, as well as fresh storylines. I've watched all three seasons and look forward to each new episode.

Girls love show. Other seasons are under different listing
My girls 4 and 6 are currently into this show. I'm glad Amazon has it but the way it is listed, it is a bit confusing if you are searching and ending up at one of 3 listings for the same show - thus the 4 star rating.

Winx shows are split up under 3 different listings. I don't mind amazon breaking up the seasons, but try to list it under one show with multiple seasons.
Lookup the episode guide under wiki. Google winx wiki episodes if link isn't here

Nice episode!
This is a very nice season. We get to learn more about Daphne and how she got inprisoned with the way she is now and the water forms of the Winx powers. We also with hopefully see if Nabu gets revived in this season since in season 4 he died or went to sleep. I would like to also see if Daphne will be able to be freed from her spirit state and get a body again. Im looking forward to watching the rest of this season and see how everything turns out in the end. It will be a great conclusion to the Winx series.

It was thrilling.
This is one of my favorite episodes. I gave it 5 stars because the is the choice for "I Love It". I especially liked the part when Flora has to try to save the flower.....it is cool and thrilling. I will buy more episodes. I am 6 years old and I recommend this to any girls that love the Winx. Club.

Missing

Drink up
The scene cues and we are introduced into the blank stare of an awkward and uncomfortable looking doctor. His ill prepared segment on fruit cannot start because, as the doctor tries to subtly inform his colleagues, he does not 'have the fruit'. After several clumsy attempts by the camera operator to break the awkwardness of the situation, we catch the backside of a quickly moving production assistant dropping a bag of freshly purchased supermarket fruit in front of Mr. Brule. It works.

Almost if by force of habit we expect a punch line at this point. It doesn't come. Our minds reel as the plot is pulled from beneath our taught fingers. No climax, no story development, no comfort lead in music. Shortly thereafter you realize you are only invited to participate in the haphazard denouement of this story - you are riding the thing down into the glorious and hilarious catastrophe that it was meant to be.

As we let the show aspirate, we can detect notes of dark...

Deprogramming for the TV generation
Many people dont like large chunks of their lives being ripped from them and exposed as being horrendously stupid. Most of us spend a lot of our lives watching television, its almost completely unredeemably artificial and crappy. This show pokes fun at it all. They manage to do it in an entertaining and humorous way not in a preachy or nasty way. Many people are unsettled by the material because its uncomformist and intentionally off key, I personally enjoy the change.
The DVD doesnt get old the work is dense in a good way and new things appear in it on every rewatching. When I am watching some completely retarded infomercial or tv show on the tube. I sometimes just start laughing as I realize how absurd the whole thing is as something from Tim and Eric pops into my head.
Some bits dont work 100% but I give them 5*'s anyway for putting it all out there.

Simply amazing
There is no show today better than this. Think of pee-wee's playhouse meets robot chicken. It is amazing. Tim and Eric awesome show, great job! has all the awesome and funny things you'd expect from tim and eric. Awkward pauses, weird facial expressions, funny dances, weird situations, etc. I love all kinds of shows like Mr.Show, Human Giant, Robot Chicken, Invader Zim, but out of every show ever made this one is my favorite. I don't know what it is about these two guys, but they are the funniest two people to ever live. If you thought their other show Tom Goes To The Mayor was good then you NEED to see this, its even better.

Super Hero

ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS EVER
Volume 2:Aqua Teen Hunger Force
13 episodes (2 discs):156 Minutes Long

ATHF is one of the most hilarious, coolest shows out there today on TV. Every episode is hilarious. Anyone that enjoys Adult Swim will enjoy this dvd set.

Volume 2 is better then the first Volume though but they are both awesome.

It is a story of Meatwad(ball of meat), Frylock(fries), and Master Shake(milkshake). Carl there next door neighbor dosen't like them a lot because they annoy him all the time and swim in his pool. If you ever noticed his house is for sale in every episode. They encounter mostly robots and aliens, and solve mysteries. Do not buy this unless you have Volume 1. It does seem like they matured a lot on these episodes because you don't always find them destroying Carl's stuff and they curse a lot more(especially Meatwad).

BELOW is a list of the episodes in Volume 2 and a little description of each one. I also have a length written down for...

"If you need anything, you know who to look to--someone else
First of all, Volume 2 picks up where the first volume left off. This is not season 2 only, so to the reviewers complaining about missing episodes read the cover. Second of all two discs were not unnecessary, and the review above this one already explained why.

For those who dont know, Aqua Teen Hunger Force is the show about 3 food products, Master Shake, Frylock and Meatwad who live in New Jersey. They are supposed to be detectives but they never really solve any crime, or try to for that matter. Their neighbor Carl is a porn-loving, unemployed and mostly drunk man who just wants the Aqua Teens to stay out of his "friggin' pool." This may sound like a wierd show so far and it is. It is my favorite on Adult Swim and I find the comedy hilarious. Unfortunately not many people I know like this show or have ever heard of it. ATHF is a kind of comedy that not everyone will appreciate, but for those who do this dvd will not dissapoint.

Volume 2 picks up...

Infinatly Excellent DVDs...for Earth Beings.
Hello reader, I am Ignignokt and this is Err. We are Mooninites from the inner core of the moon. Our race is hundreds of years beyond yours. Since we are so advanced, we are being gracious enough to assist your primitive mind in selecting humorous DVDs. Listen well or prepare to receive a moon spanking.

Though our sense of humor is beyond all that you can possibly comprehend with one hundred percent of your brain, these DVDs are primitive enough for you to find humorous. They are about the Aqua Teens, primitive earth fast food products. Most of the humor in these episodes in something you earth people call 'irreverent.' If you are amused by this 'irreverent' humor, you will likely find yourself in fits of primitive laughter as you watch. Though all of these episodes are very inferior by moon standards, such episodes as "Super Birthday Snake" and "Universal Remonster" are riotous by your primitive earth standards. Unfortunately for you, some of these episodes are infinitely...
